The Ti21 Rcoil Rail Current Transducer is used to provide accurate measurements of current in the Ti frequency range through the running rail (NOT 3rd RAIL) in a compact and portable electronic measuring device for railway applications.
There are other electronic measuring instruments that measure electric current without making electrical contact with the conductor. Many of these, including the conventional current transformer, use a ferromagnetic core and are subject to magnetic saturation effects that limit the range of currents that they can measure. This Railway Specific Current Transducer, on the other hand, does not saturate and is linear over an enormous range of currents from milliamps to 10 amps. This feature enables the accurate measurement of very low currents at certain selected frequencies in the presence of extremely large currents at other frequencies.
Battery Test and Life
When switched to TEST, the LED labelled BATTERY TEST indicates the battery voltage status:
Battery life is estimated at over 80 hours of continuous use with alkaline batteries.
Sensitivity Ranges
The Ti21 rail current transducer provides two switch-selectable sensitivity ranges:
This model features 1A/volt No Filter.
Output Connections
Output connections are provided via 4mm sockets.
